HC quashes Govt package for appointment of teachers

Kochi: The Kerala High Court Thursday quashed the state government's package for appointment of teachers, which had fixed the teacher-student ratio at 1:45.

Stating that the government’s package is in contrary to the Right to Education Act, the bench ordered to fix the teacher-student ratio at 1:30 in the primary level and 1:35 in the upper primary level.

The court also ruled that there no need of the prior permission from the government for the appointment of teachers in aided schools.
