Explosives found near Padmanabhaswami Temple

Thiruvananthapuram: Creating tension about the security of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple here, some explosives were recovered from a pond near the temple on Sunday.

The five pipe bombs were found abandoned in a sack in the Sreepadatheertham holy pond located close to the northern entrance of the temple.

The police and the bomb squad informed that among the five bombs, four were still likely to explode. They were later defused by the bomb squad.

The explosives were found by workers who were cleaning the pond, under the supervision of the officials of the Archaeological Survey of India.
