P. Jayarajan gets death threat on Facebook, case registered
text_fieldsKannur: The police on Sunday registered a case in connection with a Facebook post allegedly issuing death threat to CPI(M) Kannur district secretary P.Jayarajan.
The case has been registered under the IT Act, which carries a maximum imprisonment of three years.
The threat, allegedly posted by one Saji Krishna, was removed after reactions started pouring in.
Soon after Jayarajan received the death threat, CPI(M) state committee member M.V Jayarajan had sent a fax message to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, DGP and district police chief seeking police action against the accused in the incident.
P. Jayarajan’s son Jain Raj had courted controversy following his Facebook post allegedly congratulating the murderers of RSS district leader T Manoj. The Kathirur police had registered a case against him.
