Murder accused placing turban on Rajnath a serious matter: Chennithala
text_fieldsKottayam: State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala Monday said it was a serious matter that an accused in the murder case placing a turban on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his visit to Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.
"Of course, this is a serious matter. But Kerala Police had no role in it as Singh is a person under NSG security," Chennithala told reporters at Kottayam.
In a glaring breach of security, a murder accused Saturday had placed a turban on Home Minister Rajnath Singh outside the famed Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist Santhosh, a key accused in the 2008 murder of a CPI-M youth activist, was captured on TV gifting the turban to the home minister Saturday. It was aired Sunday. The pictures that have now come out show Santhosh placing the ceremonial head gear on Rajnath Singh's head after his temple visit.
Santhosh is currently out on bail.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had on Friday visited the home of Manoj at Kathirur in Kannur and assured the RSS-BJP leadership of a CBI probe in the case.
