C Divakaran removed from CPI national executive
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Senior CPI leader C. Divakaran has been removed from CPI national executive.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, CPI general secretary Sudhakar Reddy has said the CPI national council meeting has endorsed the recommendation of the national executive in this regard.
Divakaran, who had faced disciplinary action over the ‘cash-for-seat’ controversy in connection with the selection of candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency, had already been removed from the state executive of the party.
Divakaran didn't attend the national executive that began in New Delhi on Saturday.
The Lok Sabha poll result had come as a severe blow to the LDF in general and CPI in particular in the keenly watched contest, pushing Abraham to the third spot in the Thiruvananthapuram constituent.
