No role in RSS activist’s murder: CPI-M
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The CPI(M) State Committee has submitted its report to the Polit Bureau, stating that the party had no role in the murder of an RSS functionary at Kathiroor in Kannur.
According to reports, the party state committee’s report has stated that it was a political murder and the allegations against the party are fabricated.
After reviewing the recent political development in the state, the CPI(M) central leadership had observed that the murder politics would affect the party’s image in the national level. The Polit Bureau had sought the State committee’s report in the wake of it.
Pramod, a survivor of the attack in which RSS leader K.T. Manoj was killed in Kannur last week, had identified the culprits Monday. The CBI will probe the case.
Last week, Director General of Police K.N. Balasubramaniam had recommended the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.
Manoj (42), a district office-bearer of RSS, was hacked to death by a gang that attacked him at Kathirur in Kannur district on September 1. Two others were injured, one of them seriously, in the attack.
Country-made bombs were hurled at the car in which Manoj and his companions were travelling and the attackers then hacked him to death.
