Govt to move SC over Plus Two issue
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The State government has decided to approach the Supreme Court challenging the Kerala High Court order in the Plus Two case.
In the plea, the government will argue that the decision sanctioning additional Plus Two batches was taken in accordance with the requirements in the education sector.
The Kerala High Court on September 1 had dismissed the state government's appeal over a single bench's order that criticised the government's decision to allot additional Plus Two batches based on MLAs' opinions rather than abide by recommendations of the higher secondary education department.
The bench had termed the government's move "dubious" and directed that admissions be conducted on the basis of the interim order issued by the single bench.
Rejecting the government's claim that the court's order would adversely affect studies of over 81,000 students, the court had said there was no point in blaming the court after creating circumstances that affected the admission process.
