Kannur: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadet who suffered bullet injury during a firing practice at the NCC camp at Nirmalagiri College at Koothuparamba in September died Thursday morning.

M. Anas, 18, a resident of Kurikkilad, near Vadakara in Kozhikode, was under medical observation at an Air Force hospital in Bangalore as both his limbs were paralysed.

Anas, a first year B.Com student at NAS College at Kallikkandy here, was injured when a bullet fired by another cadet hit his right chest during the firing practice.

He was given preliminary treatment at Thalassery Cooperative Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. Since his condition remained very critical, he was later shifted to the Air Force hospital in Bangalore.

The Koothuparamba police had registered a case in connection with the incident.
