Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Friday denied reports in a section of media that his office had issued a statement saying that the new liquor policy would be a setback for the tourism sector.
“I didn’t say anything against the liquor policy. I was misquoted by the media,” Chandy told reporters here.
“Media gave the report without asking me the clarity on the matter,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the channels, quoting the minutes of the State-Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), reported that the Chief Minister had said the new liquor policy would not augur well for the tourism industry.
