US trade pressure won’t work, says China
text_fieldsBeijing: Just as the trade war between US and China rages on, China’s top envoy yesterday advised U.S to remain “Cool-headed”, while threatening to increase tariff on further $200 billion of Chinese imports.
Additional tariffs on Chinese imports will uptick costs for American consumers, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
“We hope that the trade policymakers in the U.S will be cool-headed and listen to the voice of U.S consumers..and also pay attention to the voice in the international community, Mr. Wang was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that the U.S had no regard for the world, and “playing both soft and hard ball with China will not have any effect”.
Earlier Trump directed the US Trade Representative to mull over increasing the proposed tariffs to 25 per cent against the planned 10 percent.
