Jerusalem: Further tightening its blockade, Israel started preventing fuel supplies to the besieged Gaza strip.
Israel’s defense minister on Wednesday night made the announcement regarding the termination of fuel supply via Kerem shalom, its only commercial corridor.
The reason that the minister cited behind this belligerent move was the “continued terror of flaming balloons and friction on the border”.
There were reports of incendiary balloons, set off during militant group Hama’s border protest, causing devastating fires in farmlands and forests in Southern Israel.
In July Israel temporally blocked fuel supply citing similar reasons.
