Imran Khan is the ideal puppet of army, says former wife
text_fieldsNew Delhi: In a no complimentary set of remarks about Pakistan's to-be-prime minister, Reham Khan, former wife of the Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), dubbed him as the “ideal puppet” of army.
She gave her reaction to Khan’s performance in the election, and said she had expected as much; if elections were fair and free, there is no chance he would have won, she said in an interview given to The Hindu.
She pulled no punches in calling him “Ideal puppet” and went on to say that he had no knowledge of a lot of complex issues. This meant that Khan would be “willing to follow their [military] line”.
He had boycotted 2008 elections feeling upset over having been not supported by military. However, Imran Khan “always boasted of their support”. The journalist and author of recent book “Reham Khan” said that the plan to put Imran Khan in power had come two or three years before.
Coming down heavenly on Khan, she said the PTI leader had no ideology, and cited example of his being critical of Indian during his campaign and “ It is all so hypocritical” she said.
