Woman journalist in Noida chased and attacked after overtaking two men, both accused arrested

A 35-year-old woman journalist working in Noida was chased and assaulted by two men on a scooter while she was driving home late at night.
The incident happened between October 30 and 31.
She is a news producer at a private network. She was driving to her Vasant Kunj residence from her Noida office around 12:45 am. The two men started following her after she overtook them once she crossed the Mahamaya flyover.
The men tried to block her car and made gestures asking her to stop. The pillion rider hit the windshield. He also attempted to open the car door. Later, they broke the windshield using a stick.
The journalist was shocked and feared for her safety. She called a colleague who told her not to stop the car. She then drove towards the Ashram flyover. She alerted the police control room at 1:30 am.
A police team from Lajpat Nagar reached the location quickly. The case was handed over to the Sun Light Colony police station as the incident took place in their jurisdiction.
Both men were arrested within hours. They have been identified as Shubham and Deepak. Police said both have a criminal background.
Investigators said they are checking if the two had carried out similar attacks before. Police also said that distress calls from women are now being handled with maximum priority. They added that night patrolling on expressways in the city has been strengthened.
