UK offers special visa route for Indian students to study, live in the country
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The United Kingdom government has started process for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025 allowing Indian students ‘the opportunity to live, study, travel, and work in both the UK and India for up to two years’, The Indian Express reported.
The application process for the scheme has started, with the ballot is scheduled to open at 2:30 pm (IST) between February 18 and February 20.
Indian nationals aged between 18-30 can enter the ballot at –gov.uk and applicants do not have to pay to enter the ballot.
It is reported that students could be considered for one of the 3,000 spots available under the scheme.
The authorities in charge will pick the successful entries at random; however, those who are under the Youth Mobility Scheme visa will not make it to the list.
On the date they set to travel to the UK, applicants must be at least 18 years old and must possess the proof of having £2,530(Rs 2,70,824) in savings in order to support themselves in the country.
Applicants should not have any children aged below 18 living with them or financially responsible for.
UK residents applying for it must also qualify for a UK bachelor’s degree level or above and be aged between 18-30, according to the report.
They have to meet all eligibility requirements before entering the ballot.
Indian nationals looking to travel to the UK are free to enter the YPS ballot and those selected from it would be notified via email within two weeks of closing the ballot and subsequently they will be directed to apply for visa, the report said.
Those selected have to return to India after completing two years in the UK.
