Those who oppose Vande Mataram have no right to live on Indian soil: UP CM Yogi
text_fieldsLucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday declared that those opposing Vande Mataram have no right to reside on Indian soil, targeting the Samajwadi Party and Congress for appeasement politics that stifled development and cultural revival.
Speaking in the Assembly during the Budget Session, he accused these parties of obstructing progress in Ayodhya and Mathura while resisting events like the Kanwar Yatra and Deepotsav. “Those who oppose Vande Mataram have no right to live on Indian soil. Certain political groups eat from India but refuse to sing Vande Mataram,” Yogi said.
He hailed the state’s shift from a riot-torn “BIMARU” past to a temple-driven economy and growth engine, now ranking as India’s third-largest. Citing this year’s Prayagraj Magh Mela, he noted attendance surged from 12 crore to 21 crore, crediting improved law and order.
Yogi contrasted the pre-2017 mafia rule—when daughters and traders lived in fear—with today’s discipline, celebration, and confidence. Over the past nine years, the state moved from curfews to rule of law, recruiting 60,000 police personnel, reorganising PAC units, forming women’s battalions, and expanding forensic labs from two-three to 12, plus a State Forensic Institute and cyber desks statewide.
NITI Aayog data showed six crore people escaping multidimensional poverty in eight years, with welfare schemes for rations and healthcare continuing seamlessly. His government, he stressed, prioritises governance, policy clarity, and political resolve over power.
