Sharad Pawar unhappy over contradictory voices among MVA leaders
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has expressed his displeasure over contradictory voices being heard publicly from leaders in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), and urged all three key parties in the MVA-Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP- to speak with one voice before the public.
Sharad Pawar is reported to have expressed his dissatisfaction with the contradictory statements made by leaders in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) during a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at his residence, Silver Oak, in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. During the meeting, Pawar also suggested that he may attend one of the MVA rallies being held statewide.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson, Sanjay Raut, informed that Pawar advised that the three parties in the MVA - Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP - should present a united front when speaking publicly, despite having their own individual agendas, plans, and policies. Pawar emphasized that if they presented differing opinions before the public, it would create confusion and bad publicity for the MVA, according to The Indian Express.
Raut also stated that the Shiv Sena chief agreed with Pawar's opinions and acknowledged the importance of avoiding public disagreements, which could provide ammunition for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to criticize them.
The MVA parties have been in disagreement over several issues, including the demand for an investigation into the alleged malpractices of the Adani Group and the ideology of Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar.
Apart from that, there were differences of opinion within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties regarding the Adani Group issue where Pawar was against a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe while the Congress party was in favour of it.
There has been disagreement on the issue of Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar. The Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP demanded a Bharat Ratna for him, while the Congress party accused him of working in the interest of the British after apologizing and getting himself released from jail.
