New Delhi: The Supreme Court revokes a bail granted by the Rajasthan High Court to a man accused of honour killing, reports PTI. On Monday, the SC reached the judgement in the case in which a Kerala youth was allegedly shot dead by his in-laws for marrying the Rajasthan-based girl of another caste.

The court asked the accused, Mukhesh Chowdhary, brother-in-law of deceased Amit Nair, to surrender before the trial court. The bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana cancelled the bail while hearing the plea of Amit Nair's widow, Mamta. The couple had married in August 2015, against Mamta's parents' wishes. Amit and the accused Mukesh were friends.

In May 2017, Jeewanram Chaudhary and Bhagwani Devi, the woman's parents, allegedly planned Amit's murder in Jaipur. According to police, Mamta's parents entered her residence along with an accomplice who shot Amit while a second accomplice waited in the car outside.

On May 17 2017, Amit's mother had lodged an FIR in Jaipur under IPC sections 452 (house trespass), 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).

Amit, an engineer, had a construction business while Mamta is an LL.B graduate.
