Sacked Punjab minister arrested over corruption charges

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday veritably sent shockwaves in the state sacking the state's Health Minister Vijay Singla on charges of corruption.
Aside from this, Vijay Singla was reportedly arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Reiterating AAP's zero-tolerance policy against corruption, the Chief Minister he had directed police to register case against Vijay Singla for indulging in corruption in his department, which according to the CM the minister had confessed to.
The chief minister in a video message said he was taking strict action against the minister, after learning that the minister was allegedly demanding one per cent commission for tenders.
Mann criticised that the previous government had shielded the corrupt, which he said would not be tolerated in Punjab any more, according to India Today.
