Hyderabad: Controversial Goshamahal legislator T Raja Singh has once again sparked outrage with his divisive rhetoric, this time targeting Muslim women during a public address in Telangana's Adilabad district. Singh, known for his hate speeches, violated Telangana High Court orders by urging Hindu women to refrain from befriending burqa-wearing Muslim women.

During the gathering, Singh proclaimed, "Whoever has a tilak on his forehead is my brother and a Hindu. I will befriend only people who sport a tilak. And our women, please do not become friends with burqa-wearing women." He went on to stoke fear by drawing comparisons to a recent controversial movie, falsely promoting the concept of "love jihad," where Muslim men supposedly trap Hindu women and forcibly convert them to Islam.

This is not the first time Singh has courted controversy. Last August, his derogatory remarks about Prophet Mohammed led to a law and order situation in Hyderabad, resulting in his suspension from the BJP. Despite conditional bail granted by the Telangana High Court, which warned him against provocative speeches and offensive social media posts targeting any religion, Singh has continued his divisive rhetoric.

Between January and February this year, Singh attended multiple rallies in Maharashtra organized by extremist organizations, where he openly called for violence against Muslims and the boycott of their businesses. His hate speeches caught the attention of the Mangalhat police, who issued show-cause notices in response.

In March, during the Ram Navami Shoba Yatra procession in Hyderabad, Singh once again targeted the Muslim community, advocating for the establishment of an "Akhand Hindu Rashtra" or unified Hindu state in India. He questioned why objections were raised when there were already over 50 Islamic countries and 150 Christian countries.

Singh's repeated inflammatory speeches have drawn widespread condemnation, with many expressing concern over the promotion of hatred and communal tensions. Civil society organizations and activists have called for strict action against Singh, emphasizing the need to preserve harmony and promote inclusivity in a diverse society like India.

As the controversy surrounding T Raja Singh continues to grow, it remains to be seen how authorities will respond to his blatant disregard for court orders and his persistent efforts to propagate hatred and division among communities.
