Quick action of driver saves passengers as bus catches fire in Bengaluru

The fire got ignited as the driver started the bus on a busy road in the city.
Wasting no time, the driver quickly evacuated passengers ensuring one is hurt, the report said citing sources in the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
There were 30 passengers in the bus at the time of the fire and after evacuating them, the driver informed the firefighters, the sources said.
Footage showed the fire and smoke rising even as the firefighter were in action.
It is reported that the engine caught fire when the driver turned on the ignition on MG road here.
The fire was suspected to be broken out as the engine was overheated.
Senior BMTC officials are looking for more details about the reason behind the fire.
BMTC sources said action would be taken after receiving the report.
