Ludhiana: Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP national convener, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is set to inaugurate the 'Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwar' scheme on December 10.

This initiative aims to offer citizen-centric services directly to people's doorsteps, as announced by the party.

The AAP's Punjab unit's chief spokesperson, Malwinder Singh Kang, highlighted that the scheme would encompass 43 services, spanning from birth, marriage, and death certificates to income, residence, caste, and pension documents. It aims to bring almost all government services to people's homes, excluding specific services like arms licences, Aadhaar cards, and stamp paper.

The scheme's launch, scheduled in Ludhiana, will introduce a streamlined process where individuals can book appointments by dialling the helpline number '1076.' Once scheduled, applicants will receive SMS notifications detailing necessary documents and fees.

Trained staff will visit individuals' residences or workplaces at the appointed time, equipped with tablets to facilitate the necessary paperwork, fee collection, and providing receipts. The application status can be tracked by citizens through these receipts, with soft copies of certificates delivered to their mobile phones and hard copies sent to their homes.

Kang emphasised the scheme's significance in alleviating the burden on Punjab's citizens who previously had to spend hours queueing at government offices. It's an attempt to eradicate the need for intermediaries, offering direct access to services for the public.
