BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not need validation from Mamata Banerjee over the alleged misuse of investigation agencies. He was responding to the West Bengal chief minister's statements about central agencies being used to taunt members of the Opposition.

He added that Banerjee, her government, and her immediate family including her nephew and designated successor are under the radar of central agencies because the courts ordered an investigation. "She must account for the loot," he tweeted.

Banerjee had earlier said that investigations are making businessmen flee India. She said: "BJP leaders who are conspiring deserve the blame for making businessmen leave." The assembly passed a resolution against the alleged misuse of central investigative agencies.

"Businessmen are running away because of fear and misuse of ED (Enforcement Directorate) and the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). I believe Modi hasn't done this. The CBI reports to the Union Home Ministry controlled by Amit Shah, and not to the Prime Minister's Office," she said.

She also asked how many raids have been conducted at the residences of politicians who joined the BJP. "BJP will go in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Those who are flying like gas balloons will understand."
