Bhopal: In a case where an Indian married woman crossed the border to meet her Pakistani boyfriend, whom she met on Facebook, and married him after converting to Islam, a thorough investigation has been called for by the Madhya Pradesh minister, following a Pakistani businessman gifting the couple land and money.

Anju from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, travelled to Pakistan with a month-long Visa and married her Facebook friend, Nasrullah, after converting to Islam. However, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra sought an investigation to find whether an element of international conspiracy is at play, citing the gift the couple received from the Pakistani businessman

This act of conversion led to the generous gift of a vast tract of land and financial assistance from Mohsin Khan Abbasi, CEO of a prominent real estate firm in Pakistan.

Anju's husband in Rajasthan claims that they are not divorced yet, and the couple has two children, a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. This has only intensified the scrutiny surrounding Anju's actions.

Back in Gwalior, Anju's father, Gaya Prasad Thomas, expressed his deep disappointment and shame over his daughter's actions. He laments that she did not consider the well-being of her children and husband before embarking on this journey. Thomas asserts that Anju's decision has effectively severed ties with her family.
