Land-for-jobs case: Lalu Prasad, sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap summoned
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his two sons have been summoned by a Delhi court on Wednesday to appear before it on October 7 in the alleged land-for-jobs scam case, The Indian Express reported.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne of the Rouse Avenue Court summoned Yadav’s sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav in the Enforcement Directorate case.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne in the summoning order said that prima facie Lalu Yadav by virtue of his position was in position to facilitate public employment, and many people had parted their lands with Lalu’s family at cheaper rates than market rates.
The judge added that Lalu Yadav seemed to have handed out government jobs in exchange for land parcels, and the court also said that Tejashwi had allegedly received shares of a company AK Infosystems ‘ at pittance’ .
‘Similarly, the accused persons who sold their land holdings can be viewed to have consciously entered into this and generated proceeds of crime,’ the judge reportedly said.
The court summoned Tej Pratap Yadav as well, although he was not made an accused in the supplementary chargesheet.
The court said that the possibility of Tej Pratap Singh’s involvement cannot be ruled out, nevertheless he did not get any shareholding, as the land parcels in Patna were allegedly sold by both Tej Pratap and Tejashvi to AK infosystems.
