Harshavardhan

Earlier on Saturday, police in Karnataka arrested a Kannada film producer and actor on allegations that he raped a co-actor under false pretenses of marriage.

Vijayabhargav a.k.a Harshavardhan had produced and starred in the Kannada movie "Vision 2023".

Despite a promise of marriage, the complainant co-actor claimed that he exploited her sexually for two years after establishing friendship with her.

In response to the co-actress' insistence on marriage, the producer threatened her with consequences.

A police complaint has been lodged in this regard with Annapoorneshwari police station.

According to the police, a complaint was filed under sections 417 (cheating), 376 (rape), 504 (intentional insults and provocation), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

Cops have also gathered digital, material, and physical evidence. A medical test has been conducted on the victim. The accused producer has been placed under judicial custody.

The matter is being investigated further.
