Intensive raids at 26 locations by NIA

In Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, 26 locations were searched by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a case concerning terror funding by the Maoist group.

NIA agents recovered three country-made pistols, one .315 bore rifle, several digital devices, Maoist literature, documents incriminating the suspects and four kilograms of suspected drugs.

To prevent any untoward incident during the search, the NIA requested the assistance of the police, Special Task Force and the CRPF.

"We have conducted searches at 26 locations pertaining to the accused persons and suspects in the districts of Jehanabad, Patna rural, Arwal, Nalanda, Gaya, Nawada and Aurangabad in Bihar, Koderma district in Jharkhand, Bhubaneshwar in Odisha and Nellore in Andhra. We have recovered a few incriminating documents," an NIA official said.

A CPI (Maoist) cadre and two OGW members are suspected of operating a terror-financing network in the Magadh region of Bihar.

Officials reported that they have been raising money to acquire arms and ammunition constantly for their sinister motive.
