India suspends visa services for Canadians as tension escalates

Ottawa: New Delhi: India has suspended visa services for Canadian nationals indefinitely as the diplomatic relations between two countries nosedived following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations against India last week.
Meanwhile, Khalistani terrorist Sukha Duneke, who was associated with Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, was killed in inter-gang rivalry, according to NDTV.
Duneke's killing has brought intensely to focus the highly divisive Khalistan activities in Canada.
The diplomatic meltdown between Indian and Canada began after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Trudeau told the House of Commons that his government had "credible allegations" against Indian agents’ involvement. India retorted that the allegations are ‘absurd" and "motivated.’
Subsequently Canada expelled a senior diplomat prompting India to reciprocally expel a Canadian diplomat.
The 45-year-old Nijjar, a designated terrorist who carried a cash reward of Rs10 for his capture, was the chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF).
Nijjar was killed outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18 by unidentified assailants.
In the thick of row, India issued a strong travel advisory that warned Indians working there and traveling to the nation to exercise caution.
‘In view of growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and criminal violence in Canada, all Indian nationals there and those contemplating travel are urged to exercise utmost caution. Recently, threats have particularly targeted Indian diplomats and sections of the Indian community who oppose the anti-India agenda,' India's advisory said.
Back home in India, Punjab Police today launched search for the associates of gangster Goldy Brar, who is accused of killing singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Brar, who is believed to be hiding in Canada, has ties with the Khalistani separatist movement, according to the police.
