Failed first marriage did not wreck the idea of marriage: Kanika Kapoor
text_fieldsBollywood singer Kanika Kapoor recently got married to London-based Gautam Hathiramani and shared photographs of the ceremony yesterday. She captioned the Instagram post 'happiness'.
This is Kapoor's second marriage. In an interview given to The Times of India, she said the failure of her first marriage did not wreck her idea of marriage. She added that growing up in a joint family and watching her grandparents, uncles and aunts, and parents shaped her.
The Baby Doll singer said she has always believed in the institution of marriage but when things don't work out, she knew it was time for her to move on. She noted that sometimes people are with a partner who doesn't understand them and vice versa. "It is not anyone's fault and it is important to move on." She added that it is important for her to lead a life with no hatred and negativity.
Kanika Kapoor first got married at the age of 18 to Raj Chandok. The couple has three children Yuvraj (19), Aayana (17) and Samara (15). They decided to part ways in 2012 but are in a "very graceful relationship".
In the photos from the wedding day, Kanika Kapoor was seen wearing an all-white pantsuit with cut-out sleeves. Her husband was wearing a blue shirt, white pants, and a brown coat. She had earlier shared pictures from her wedding reception in which she wore a red lehenga with statement jewellery.
After getting married, Kapoor wrote: "And I said YES. Fairy tales can happen to you, just never stop believing in them. Dream because one day those dreams do come true. I found my prince. I found my co-star. So grateful to the universe for making us meet. Excited to start our journey together, to grow old with you, to love you, and learn with you. But most importantly to laugh with you. Thank you for making me smile every day. My best friend, my partner, and my hero".
