Even Ravana, Babur, Aurangzeb failed to annihilate it: Yogi on Sanatan Dharma

Lucknow: Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a passionate defence of Sanatan Dharma, emphasizing its resilience and significance in the face of controversy sparked by alleged anti-Sanatan Dharma remarks made by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Speaking at a cultural program at the Police Lines on the occasion of Janmashtami, Chief Minister Adityanath asserted, "The Sanatan that Ravana's arrogance failed to erase, the Sanatan that Kansa's roar failed to shake, and the Sanatan that Babur and Aurangzeb's atrocities could not annihilate, will that Sanatan be erased by these petty power-hungry parasitic creatures." Adityanath's remarks were met with applause from the audience.

Stalin's comments, which have ignited a heated debate, allegedly criticized Sanatan Dharma, likening it to coronavirus and malaria. He had stated that such ideologies should not just be opposed but destroyed.

In response, without naming Stalin directly, Adityanath condemned any attempts to target Sanatan Dharma, stating that it amounted to a malicious effort to disturb humanity. He compared the faith to the Sun, saying, "Only a fool can think of spitting at the Sun, for it will naturally come back to the face of the person who spits."

Adityanath also took a swipe at opposition parties, suggesting that their future generations would bear the shame of their actions. He urged citizens to take pride in India's rich traditions.

Highlighting the historical significance of Sanatan Dharma, Adityanath remarked, "All those who tried to destroy the God were destroyed themselves. Sanatan was insulted 500 years ago. Today, a Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya. The opposition is trying to do petty politics, trying to create hindrance in India's progress. But it won't work."

He continued, "In every era, there have been attempts to falsify the truth. Didn't Ravana try to lie? Before that, didn't Hiranyakashyap try to insult God and Sanatan Dharma? Didn't Kansa challenge the divine authority? But, they were all destroyed in their malicious attempts. Let's not forget that the Sanatan Dharma is the eternal truth. It can't be harmed."

Adityanath concluded his speech by extending warm wishes to the public on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, reminding everyone of Lord Krishna's role as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu to establish religion, truth, and justice.
