New Delhi: A US national residing in New Delhi has taken social media by storm after documenting his astonishment at India’s quick-commerce infrastructure. In a viral Instagram Reel, Charlie Evans captured the moment his order arrived in just six minutes, leaving international viewers stunned.

Evans, who placed an order for a mineral water can and a screwdriver at 5:43 pm, shared the video to demonstrate the speed of the service to his friends back in the United States. "Alright guys, it’s 5:43 and I just ordered Blinkit. I’m showing my USA friends how quick this app and service is," he says in the clip.

He explains that the platform serves as a one-stop shop for last-minute needs, delivering not just groceries but a wide range of products including electronics like espresso machines and washing machines. Tracking the delivery in real-time, Evans expressed surprise at the logistical efficiency. "They get here super quick, and I have no idea how they find the building," he noted.

Minutes later, as the order arrived, he remarked, “That was quick. So six minutes for water and a screwdriver.” He captioned the video, "Blinkit is god."

The video has garnered over two lakh views and sparked a debate about the convenience of living in India versus the West. "Ppl in the west don’t realise what a luxurious life we live in india. we have a guy for everything and a guy for a guy as well," one user commented. Another added, "Sometimes it feels like the delivery guy was already standing downstairs, and the moment we placed the order, he came straight up to deliver it to our room."

While customers celebrate the convenience, the quick-commerce model has faced political scrutiny. Recently, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha raised concerns in Parliament regarding platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart. Chadha highlighted the precarious working conditions and low wages of gig workers, calling for stricter regulations to protect the delivery partners who make such speeds possible.
