BJP-RSS leaders laud video calling for murder of journalists as explosive, excellent

Following YouTube's removal of a video that demanded several journalists' hanging, Twitter was stormed by BJP-RSS leaders' tweets condemning YouTube for their action. The video, posted by the channel 'The String' calls for murder alleging that the journalists in question have 'vested interests'.

Rightwing tweets picked pace yesterday afternoon after The String tweeted in response to Youtube deleting its video. Former Delhi MLA Kapil Mishra said that the video brought out the truth and is not illegal or offensive. Ironically, he is known for his incendiary speech that has been blamed for inciting riots in Delhi in February 2020. While BJP Tamil Nadu spokesperson SG Suryah expressed his shock about YouTube deleting the video, BJP Mumbai spokesperson Suresh Nakhuna praised the video as revealing and explosive. Both tweets have been retweeted extensively. RSS volunteer Vikas Pandey tweeted that he donated to The String to support 'an honest cause'. Former Shiv Sena member Ramesh Solanki, claiming The Strings' videos 'important exposés', tweeted with a 'Jai Shri Ram hashtag.

While the OpIndia's Nupur Sharma's tweet that the video is 'excellent', Indic's publisher Sankrat Sanu and entrepreneur Tanmay Shankar approved of The String's work in their tweets.

The String's video, titled "Arrest Rathee, Zubair, Barkha NOW! (Greta Toolkit Exposed), accused a group of journalists, activists and media organisations as 'leftists' and alleged that they have vested interests. Journalists including Barkha Dutt, Mohammed Zubair, Saket Gokhale and News agencies like Newslaundry, Scroll, Alt News, The Wire, the Quint, The News Minute, IndiaSpend, Outlook India, Pari etc. were targeted in the video.

The video made violent allegations against pop star Rihanna, environment activist Greta Thunberg and those 'leftist' journalists as part of a 'money trail'. It claimed the trail originates from groups carrying out propaganda against India. The controversial 'toolkit' regarding farmers' protest proves that the entire protest is pre-planned, the video claims. The video warns Narendra Modi that if he didn't shut down the media mentioned in the video, his chances for another term in 2024 are slim.

The String joined Twitter last March by releasing a video titled "Truth Behind Delhi Riots'. It now has over 85000 followers on Twitter while its videos are available in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and English.
