Kuwait has condemned Houthi attacks on civilian and economic sites in several Saudi cities that left dozens of people injured, including women and children.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and directly threatened the safety of its citizens and residents.

The ministry described the strikes as a breach of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as a dangerous and unjustified escalation that could threaten security and stability across the region.

Kuwait also condemned continued Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

The ministry said such attacks directly endangered maritime navigation, global energy supplies and international trade.

Kuwait expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported all measures taken by the kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security, stability and interests, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.

The ministry said Saudi Arabia’s security was an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the other Gulf Co-operation Council states.
