BJP leaders mock Oppn meeting, posters targeting Nitish Kumar appear in Bengaluru
text_fieldsBengaluru: Banners criticizing Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar appeared overnight on Race Course Road, Windsor Manor Bridge, and near Hebbal on the Airport Road in Bengaluru.
One of the banners referred to the Bihar CM as 'The Unstable Prime Ministerial Contender,' blaming him for the Sultanganj bridge collapse and mentioning the dates of the incident.
Another banner read, "Nitish Kumar's gift to Bihar that keeps collapsing" and "The man who builds underwater bridges."
The Bengaluru police promptly removed the banners, but the identity of the individuals who put them up remains unknown. An investigation is currently underway to determine those responsible.
Not far from Race Course Road, the Taj West End hotel is hosting a joint meeting today for 26 opposition parties that have united against the BJP, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Several BJP leaders have taken to social media to criticize the meeting, describing it as "the Bengaluru episode of big thamasha."
Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, shared a poster of the meeting on Twitter and sarcastically remarked, "hearty welcome to all the future PM aspirants! united we stand, united we fall!"
Former MLA CT Ravi and National General Secretary BL Santhosh also joined in ridiculing the opposition gathering.
