Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent Baloch leader and human rights activist in Pakistan, has written an open letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressing strong support for India.

He also warned of what he described as an expanding China-Pakistan strategic alliance that could soon lead to the deployment of Chinese troops in Balochistan.

In the letter, written from Pakistan, Baloch said the people of Balochistan view the growing cooperation between Beijing and Islamabad as deeply dangerous. He claimed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects have reached advanced stages and warned that Chinese military presence in the region could become a reality within months if the situation remains unaddressed.

Baloch said the people of Balochistan have endured decades of repression, alleging state-sponsored violence and human rights abuses under Pakistani rule. He said Baloch nationalist leaders had declared independence in May 2025 and announced that the Republic of Balochistan would observe “Balochistan Global Diplomatic Week” in early 2026 to engage with the international community.

In his New Year message, Baloch praised India’s actions under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly Operation Sindoor, which followed the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. He described the operation as a display of courage and a commitment to regional security.

He extended New Year greetings to the people of India, Parliament, civil society, and media, highlighting historical and cultural ties, including the Hinglaj Mata temple as a shared spiritual symbol.

Baloch reaffirmed what he called unwavering support for India in advancing peace, security, and regional stability. He warned that any Chinese troop presence in Balochistan without the consent of its people would pose a serious threat to both Balochistan and India.

China and Pakistan have consistently denied allegations of military expansion under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, while India has opposed the project, citing sovereignty and security concerns.
