Bhopal: An All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader offered biryani and breakfast for those who freshly entered the party from the Narela Assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. It was part of the party's drive to increase its base in the region, PTI reporter.

AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, had contested their first-ever polls in the recently conducted urban bodies' polls in Madhya Pradesh, securing seven seats of corporators.

AIMIM leader Peerzada Tauqeer Nizami told PTI, "We are welcoming people who did not get due respect in their parties, whether it was the BJP or Congress. When they come to our office to join the outfit, as a mark of respect, we offer them biryani or breakfast such as samosas and tea, as we do to guests in our homes."

New entrants will be garlands and offered food in keeping with their respective religious practices, Nizami said.

He said, "They should feel that they have come to the right place. I listen to their problems and make efforts to sort them out."

Nizami claimed that more than 20,000 people joined his party during the ongoing drive so far. He added that the tactics would be introduced by the party in other Assembly seats, too, in the state capital, past Diwali.

The leader further said, "We had organised a public meeting of party president Owaisi in Narela during the recently held urban bodies' elections." He added that he was asked to work for the party in Bhopal.
