Thiruvananthapuram: India footballer CK Vineeth, who lost his central government job, due to lack of attendance, will be given an appropriate posting, Kerala sports minister A C Moideen said on Wednesday.

Vineeth, whose services from the Accountant General's Office in Thiruvananthapuram were terminated owing to lack of attendance, met the minister personally and sought employment.

Vineeth later told a television channel that he was awaiting the government's decision.

In the order issued by the AG's Office it has been stated that Vineeth's services had been terminated with effect from May 7, 2016 under Rule 5 of central civil services (temporary service) rules, and consolidated instructions on probation/confirmation in central services

Moideen and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ramesh Chennithala had written to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India to reconsider the decision to terminate his service, but to no avail.
