The much-awaited collaboration between superstar Mahesh Babu and acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli officially kicked off with a traditional puja ceremony.
The event, held at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad, marks the beginning of their ambitious film, SSMB29, and has fans buzzing with excitement.
Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli arrived at the venue, where they were joined by the rest of the film's team, including Rajamouli's wife, Rama Rajamouli. Visuals from the ceremony have gone viral, heightening anticipation for what promises to be a monumental cinematic venture.
Though unconfirmed, reports suggest Priyanka Chopra Jonas is being considered for the female lead.
According to Pinkvilla, Rajamouli sought a globally recognized actress for the role, and Priyanka emerged as a fitting choice. Sources revealed that multiple meetings between Rajamouli and Priyanka over the past six months have aligned their creative visions.
Described as an action-intensive role, Priyanka is reportedly preparing for the project. If finalized, her presence will bring international appeal to the film.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to play the antagonist in the two-part saga, further elevating expectations. The film’s script is in its final stages, and production is scheduled to begin in April 2025.
The first installment of SSMB29 is expected to release in 2027, with the second part slated for 2029.
