Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has tweeted a "no tolerance" policy for anyone who flouts Covid-19 protocol, claiming that an FIR had been filed against an actress for non-compliance.

The actress in question is reportedly Gauhar Khan, who had gone out for the purpose of shooting a film even after testing positive for the virus. An ETimes report quoted Vishwas Mote , Assistant Municipal Commissioner of K-West Ward as saying that the FIR was filed after complaints were made in regard to the actress not staying at home.

"No Compromise On City's Safety! BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood actor for non-compliance to COVID19 guidelines on testing positive. The rules apply to all alike and we urge citizens to follow all guidelines and help the city beat the virus," the BMC tweeted, along with a picture of the FIR.

The BMC had also issued warnings for staff and schools after a fresh spate of rising COVID-19 cases in the city. Teaching and non-teaching staff have been requested to work from home as Mumbai recorded 1712 cases on Monday after a three day streak of more than 1500 cases a day.
