Fahadh Faasil, a versatile Malayalam actor, has claimed that he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Speaking after dedicating Peace Valley Children's village in Kothamangalam in Kerala on Sunday, the "Aavesham" actor stated that while roaming around the children's village, he questioned a doctor if it was easy to cure ADHD.

"He told me it can be easily cured if it is diagnosed at a young age. I asked whether it can be cured if it is diagnosed at the age of 41. I am clinically ADHD diagnosed," said the Kumbalanghi Nights actor.

The National Institute of Mental Health states that a persistent pattern of hyperactivity-impulsivity or inattention that impairs functioning or development is indicative of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). A number of well-known people have acknowledged that they suffer from ADHD, including the most decorated gymnast in American history, Simone Biles; American singer, songwriter, and actor Justin Timberlake; former competitive swimmer Michael Phelps; actress Emma Watson; and political commentator Trevor Noah.

According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, ADHD is one of the most prevalent neurodevelopmental diseases in childhood. Neurodevelopmental means having to do with the way the brain grows and develops. ADHD is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD may struggle to pay attention, manage impulsive behaviours (doing without considering the consequences), or be excessively active.
