Hollywood actress Emily Ratajkowski spoke of getting over her fear of abandonment with the help of therapy. She had divorced Sebastian Bear-McClard following a cheating scandal.

Speaking to Page Six, she revealed that she tested for an "anxious preoccupied" bond at the beginning of therapy but has now moved on to a "more secure" type. It also helped her tackle anxiety issues.

"It means you really don't want to be alone. You typically have a negative self-image [and a] positive view of others. They often seek approval, support, and responsiveness from their partner. You're always turning to your parents for more reassurance. For me, it was really in therapy where I learned to be independent and get to the root of my fear of abandonment," she added.

The actress further said that therapy taught her to be independent. Ratajkowski began acting as a child and later turned to modelling.

Back in November, she opened up about why she did not opt for a stable relationship in the past. "I think it was a way for me to protect myself. I was entering a really crazy industry and working in a really crazy industry where I think now we can accept that there are a lot of predatory, scary men."
