Bollywood should take inspiration from movies like Kantara: Varun Dhawan
text_fieldsBollywood actor Varun Dhawan has joined the list of celebrities who are in awe of movies from South India that are making big in theatres across the country. He said Bollywood should take inspiration from films like Kantara and KGF.
While Varun Dhawan is known for starring in commercial films like Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, he has proven his mettle with films with depth as well. His best works are the coming-of-age drama October by Shoojit Sircar and the neo-noir action thriller Badlapur by Sriram Raghavan. In a recent interview, he said he is keen on working in South Indian films.
"I have always wanted to do films in Telugu and Tamil. Indian films are doing really well. If Kantara is doing really well or KGF 2 or Vikram, we should seek inspiration from these films and try to work with each other. It's the best thing for Indian films to grow right now," reported Indian Express.
He added that people forget that KGF 2 also had Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt. "Bollywood actors are loved by audiences in the south. We also love all the actors from there." Varun further said the Indian film industry functions with unity while many people can divide them.
The Bollywood actor went on to say he is a fan of Allu Arjun. "People can divide us, but we are one country and it is a good time to be collaborative because cinema, in general, is going through a big transition all over," he said.
Varun Dhawan will be next seen in a horror comedy Bhediya in which he plays a small-town boy who is bitten by a wolf and becomes a mythical werewolf. The movie will be released in Tamil and Telugu as well.
