Walt Disney Pictures has released the first Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales teaser trailer.
The teaser starts with ominous music from a horrifying organ. It focuses on the film’s villain Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), a powerful, merciless ghost pirate trapped in the Devil’s Triangle.
It’s interesting that Johnny Depp is nowhere to be found in the first teaser trailer.
The old gang is returning, minus Penelope Cruz and Kiera Knightley.
Depp is reprising his role as Jack Sparrow. Orlando Bloom is coming back as Will Turner while Geoffrey Rush is back as Captain Barbossa. Javier Bardem joins the cast as Captain Salazar and Kaya Scodelario, who plays Carina Smith, and Brenton Thwaites, who plays Henry, are the new cast members.
Directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, the movie is expected to release sometime in 2017.
