Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam film Swapaanam, directed by veteran filmmaker Shaji N Karun, has been selected for the prestigious Hanoi International Film Festival, scheduled to be held in Hanoi from November 23-27.
The movie, which depicts the pangs and dilemma faced by a master percussionist, will be screened in the competition section of HANIFF, Karun said.
Well-known actor Jayaram, a skilled percussionist himself, has played the hero in the movie that has garnered critical applause in different film festivals in and outside the country.
Besides Jayaram, Odissi dancer Kadambai, actors Siddique, Vineeth and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy have played significant roles in the movie.
