NEW DELHI: Offering a complete portfolio in the FMCG space, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting announced on Thursday that it is looking to enter into the packaged food business in India. The company said in a statement that it plans to be an important part of the snacks, condiments and ready-to-eat markets.

Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting CEO Vineet Agarwal said the decision to foray into the packaged food business will complement the company's existing segments in personal care and thus build a complete offering in the FMCG space in India. "Our leadership changes align with our ambitions of being a significant and leading player in the FMCG space in all the markets we operate in," Agarwal said.

Anil Chugh was appointed by the company as the head of the food business. As a result, Neeraj Khatri, head of Wipro Consumer Care's Philippines entity, has moved to head India and SAARC for Wipro's consumer care business. During the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2022, the company's revenue stood at Rs 8,634 crore. Its flagship soap brand Santoor has become a brand worth over Rs 2,300 crore, NIE reported.
