Biryani is the most ordered food in India, says Zomato
text_fieldsGurugram: Food delivery platform Zomato has unveiled its food trends analysis platform called Zomato Food Trends (ZFT) and Biryani is the most ordered food in the country.
Launched on June 30, this publicly accessible data analysis tool aims to assist Zomato's restaurant partners in adopting a data-driven approach by providing detailed information on prices, dishes, and locations. Zomato Food Trends has provided an interesting insight into the culinary preferences of Indians, revealing that chicken biryani continues to be the most ordered and trending dish in the country.
The popularity of biryani comes as no surprise, considering the widespread Indians have for it. Alongside biryani, North Indian cuisine reigns supreme as the most trending cuisine, further affirming the love for traditional Indian flavours. Chaat, a savoury snack, claimed the second position on the trending dishes list, followed by sandwiches, chicken starters, and dosa. Oriental cuisine secured the third spot on the trending cuisines list, with pizza and South Indian cuisine taking the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Zomato Food Trends, as an open platform, provides valuable insights by analysing data from millions of transactions across hundreds of cities in India. The platform offers restaurant partners the opportunity to customise their strategies and make data-driven decisions to enhance their success.
According to a statement released by Zomato, the platform is accessible to the general public without any charges. The launch of Zomato Food Trends signifies the company's commitment to aiding its restaurant partners and leveraging data analysis to drive growth and customer satisfaction.
Zomato's food trends analysis platform closely follows the introduction of a similar platform by its competitor Swiggy. Both companies recognise the significance of data in the food industry and aim to empower their restaurant partners with valuable insights to cater to the evolving preferences of Indian consumers.
