Kuwait: The Kuwait Municipality took a significant step on Monday as it officially handed over the site for the first integrated residential city project designed for low-income workers. The project, located in Subhan and covering an area of 40,000 sq m, is poised to accommodate 3,000 workers.
Director-General Saud Al-Dabbous stated that this project marks a crucial milestone in addressing the issue of bachelor housing within residential areas.
The municipality is committed to developing integrated residential complexes tailored to the needs of workers, starting with this workers’ city that will offer a range of services and facilities.
The project includes 16 residential complexes, each floor equipped with bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, relaxation lounges, laundry service rooms and personal storage spaces.
Additionally, the city features two commercial complexes housing restaurants, cafes and shops to cater to the residents' needs.
Other essential facilities include administrative and governmental buildings, a security guard building, a police station, government offices and a mosque, alongside recreational activities.
Dabbous expressed gratitude to the national cadres of engineers for their efforts in completing the final stage of the project.
Immediate delivery of the site to Kuwait Real Estate Company signifies the commencement of construction under the BOT system. The project is expected to meet technical, health, environmental and service standards within a year and a half.
