Kuwait has condemned Israel’s rejection of a Gaza peace roadmap backed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, saying the move obstructs efforts to end the conflict and reach a just settlement.
The Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that Israel’s opposition to US President Donald Trump’s roadmap, along with its rejection of a Palestinian state, undermines the implementation of the comprehensive plan for Gaza.
In a statement, the ministry said Israel’s position also weakens the collective efforts of Qatar, Egypt, Turkiye, the United States, the Board of Peace and other concerned parties working to reach a lasting agreement.
Kuwait called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and compel Israeli authorities to comply fully with the obligations and arrangements set out in the comprehensive plan and its roadmap.
The ministry also urged action to prevent any further obstruction of the plan’s implementation.
It said the full and immediate implementation of the roadmap is needed to address the serious humanitarian situation in Gaza, restore security and stability, and prepare for reconstruction and recovery.
Kuwait said any lasting peace must be based on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the lines of June 4, 1967, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
