New Delhi: Ukraine made another plea before Western allies to help the country and halt the Russian attack, BBC reported.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, addressing the nation facing the brutal Russian challenge, said on Friday morning they were defending the state alone, and most of the world's superpowers were watching the situation from afar as same as the day before.

He wondered whether Russia got convinced by the sanctions mounted on him on Thursday. Ukraine's sky and earth testify that the sanctions weren't enough, Zelensky said.

He had confirmed the multiple missile strikes that happened in the wee hours of Friday and added that the missile strike started at 4 am local time.

Russia targeted both military and civilian areas, despite Moscow's statement that they won't be targeting such regions. Kyiv, the capital, has experienced blasts this morning, and a strike has hit a residential building, Zelensky said.

Further in his video addressing, Zelensky appealed to Russia for a ceasefire. Russia must talk with Ukraine sooner or later about ending the hostilities and stopping the invasion, he said.

He said that the sooner Russia begins the dialogue, the smaller the losses it will sustain. Until the attacks stop, Ukraine will keep defending the country, BBC reported, citing Zelensky's message. He had no intention to leave the capital since he knows that he is Russia's number one target at the moment, Zelensky said.
