Party less and work more, says Elon Musk to Jeff Bezos

The world's richest businessman Elon Musk advised his competitor Jeff Bezos to party less and work more in order to get to space. He was responding to a Twitter user about a question about the Amazon founder.

A Twitter user asked the Tesla CEO if he thinks Bezos is a good person.

Musk replied saying "he is fine". He added: "It does seem like he is spending a lot of time in the hot tub these days. If he wants to get to orbit, less partying and more work would be advisable".

Bezos is the second richest person after Musk and his space venture Blue Origin recently delayed its fifth tourist flight to space. It was intended to fly on May 20. A statement from the company clarified that its NS-21 faced some vehicle issues. A new target date is not yet announced.

Both billionaires have suffered losses this year. Musk's net worth has dropped below $200 billion after Tesla shares recently hit 11-month lows. Bezos' net worth has also taken a significant hit this year, dropping by $64.6 billion.

Elon Musk also tweeted today that economic recession is a good thing. He called it a necessary, rude awakening. The SpaceX chief said: "It has been raining money on fools for too long. Some bankruptcies need to happen. Also, all the Covid stay-at-home stuff has tricked people into thinking that you don't actually need to work hard".

He predicted that the recession will last for 12-18 months. "Companies that are inherently negative cash flow need to die. So that they stop consuming resources".
