California: Reports are now emerging about a deadly mass shooting at a Chinese New Year event in California.
One report by news agency Reuters said several people died in the shooting at Monterey Park in California.
Citing a law enforcement source, the Los Angeles Times reported that police were attending a shooting in Monterey Park with multiple casualities.
The Chinese Lunar New Year celebration was held in the park where the shooting occurred.
A large number of people had showed up at the festival earlier in the day.
It is not yet clear how many people died and whether there is any information about those involved in the attack.
Monterey Park is a city in Los Angeles county, around 7 miles (11 km) from downtown Los Angeles, Reuters said.
